It starts, as these things often do, with a group of people who were told their idea would never work. This is really a story about that stubbornness and the refusal to wait for permission.

Across India, a generation raised online and unbothered by the old gatekeepers is building its own culture in real time. What used to take a magazine, a label or a studio now takes a phone and a point of view.

We spent a week with the people at the centre of it. What emerged was less a trend than a temperament: fast, resourceful, and deeply local even when the references are global.

Whether it lasts is anyone’s guess. But for now, standing in the middle of it, the energy is unmistakable.
